For instructors and driving schools
Instructor code of conduct
Everyone who teaches through student24, whether on their own or for a driving school, agrees to this when they apply. A driving school answers for every instructor who teaches for it.
- 1
Stay registered
Keep your instructor's certificate, driving licence and, where it applies, your PrDP valid. Tell us within seven days if any of them lapses, is suspended or is withdrawn.
- 2
Teach in a safe car
Every lesson is in a vehicle that is licensed, roadworthy and insured, and that the learner can drive legally on their learner's licence with you beside them.
- 3
Teach within your grade
Only teach the licence codes your certificate covers.
- 4
Put safety first
Never instruct after drinking or under the influence of anything that affects your driving. Never ask a learner to break the law, and stop the lesson if it is not safe to go on.
- 5
Respect every learner
No harassment, no discrimination, no inappropriate contact or comments, ever. A learner may end a lesson at any time and ask to be taken somewhere public.
- 6
Be honest
Charge the price you list. Do not promise a pass, sell test answers, or offer to influence an examiner. Describe your car, your experience and your availability truthfully.
- 7
Respect privacy
Use a learner's details only to arrange and give their lessons. Do not share them or contact a learner for anything else.
- 8
Turn up
Arrive on time. If you must cancel, tell the learner as early as you can.
- 9
Work with us on complaints
If a learner raises a concern, answer it honestly and promptly. We may pause or remove a listing while we look into it.
Breaking this code can mean your listing is paused or removed. To report a concern about an instructor, email support@student24.co.za.
